Instead of a having a world that has only forests, only tundra or only deserts, their world resembles other world locations.

Why should it resemble only a few countries when it can resemble more countries. It is also, more cool, more fun and more interesting if Sonic's world is like that. This map explains it better and makes it more clear on how I imagine Sonic's world and what the different countries on Sonic's Earth look like and what real-life locations they resemble.

The same thing goes for the other countries and continents on Sonic's world. France, Belgium, Holland and Luxemburg are located in Western Europe, so if you are in Western Spagonia, you will find the landscape, countryside, geography, culture and architecture there resemble those countries. So I imagine Spagonia resembling the rest of Europe. According to Sonic's own Wiki, Spagonia is based on Italy, France and England, but the Spagonian continent is too big to be based on just a few countries. The continents are too big to be based on just a few countries.
